We really like the fire station and our son loves playing with it, but we were very disappointed when we put it together and realized the stairs they sent did not fit the fire station- must have been made for another product. We contacted them and they sent replacement stairs, however only one staircase fit, so we are out of luck on the second staircase. There is a design flaw somewhere with the stair cases and the pre-drilled holes for the staircases. More importantly, the figures are completely different than advertised. They are not very poseable and their clothing is painted on. They don't really fit down the space around firestation pole either, so that's a small point of frustration for our son when he can't make them slide down the pole. Also, there are other design changes, such as there is no dog house, the TV and a few other accessories are smaller and less nice than advertised, and the helicopter, fire truck and ambulance are different as well (though still nice, and we love the working siren on the fire truck). My guess is they changed a few things along the way and never updated their video/advertisements. The dog is better though.Otherwise, this product is sturdy, has a lot of nice features and I would recommend it. I think it is heirloom quality and it should last through our next kids as well as nieces/nephews and/or grandkids one day. It does make me a little wary to order something from kidkraft knowing that I could be getting something other than what I am seeing in their advertisements.Great toyThis is a cute little playset, my 4 year old son loves it. It was easy to assemble and it seems pretty durable. Wish the hole for the fireman pole was bigger, the people won’t fit in them so that kind of defeats the purpose but we pretend ??♀️ Good overall except for a couple goofy things (there’s also no stairs for the first floor, and I wish the people bent to sit at the chairs).I bought this fire station for my son for Christmas a year ago when he was a little over two and the moment he saw it he was beside himself. He loved it so much and played his little heart out. Over a year later he STILL plays with it almost every day (his daddy and grandpa is also a volunteer fireman). He never cared much for the furniture other than the beds where the firemen go to sleep at night occasionally, but he loves the big hands on firetruck and ambulance. It is so cute watching him make up all kinds of scenarios. The helicopter's blades have broken a few times already, but I wouldn't blame the manufacturer that is just due to the fact that he gets crashed A LOT and so far I have always been able to glue it back together.Because my son loved this toy so much I actually bought the same fire station for my two nephews last Christmas and to my knowledge they loved it just as much.So i would highly recommend this toy, it is made very well, with lots of cute details.the only negative that I don't think matters much to my son is that the firemen figures are not really pose-able and don't really fit into the ambulance and firetruck. They kinds stick out funny, but like I said when me son gets into it he doesn't notice. This fire station is pretty good quality, not plastic. However, ours came out of the box with some paint scratches, nicks, but nothing that bothers my kids just stuff I notice. Like everyone has noted the 2 fire fighters that come with it don't bend to fit the furniture or trucks. Playmobil and Mighty World fire brigade action figures work better. My son is totally into Fireman Sam and we have those action figures, but they are very small for the furniture in this house. His Fireman Sam "Venus" fire truck and Mighty World fire chief truck fit in the fire station well. The Playmobil fire rescue helicopter to goes with it well too. Most of the furniture is ok for preschoolers to manage, however the chairs for the dining table are pedastol style and impossible to balance a small action figure on. The fire truck and ambulance that come with this set are a bit lame if your kids already play with Tonka trucks or Playmobil trucks that look more like real fire trucks.Overall, the fire station is good for imaginary play. The action figures that come with it and some of the accessories are a bit disappointing. Get some Mighty World, Playmobil, or Fireman Sam stuff to go with this.I got this Kids Craft Deluxe fire Recue set for my grandsons 5th B-day, I was unsure as to buy it because of some of the reviews I had read but so glad I did. My grandson just loved it and I have to admit myself I would have loved it to as a child. That was all he talked about the rest of the day. Some one had said that the wheels to the truck came off and that was the only thing I was disapointed in, Every thing else was made of wood except the wheels. I haven't had any problem yet and hope it stays that way. I thought they did a wonderful job making this otherwise.I was very enpressed . I thought the amount of furinute they gave with this was great and the detail of how they made it all in wood was unreal. This is some thing I hope to put away for my grandson when he out grows it if that ever happens lol. I think the only thing they could have done better on this is if they had put the wheels made of wood. We love it and are so glad we got this for him. I get my grandson every weekend and this is the first thing he runs to. Happy we got this and thank you great minds AAAAAAI had given a 3 star review earlier because the fire pole we received was an inch too short, which was disappointing, and one on the pieces was chipped, however I called Kidkraft and when I got through (it took a while because it was just after Christmas) the customer service rep I spoke with was great. He ordered replacement parts be sent out to us, and within a couple days we had the two new parts, which were perfect, and they even threw in an extra fireman. Although I was disappointed that it wasn’t perfect on Christmas morning, there is no question that Kidkraft cares about their customers and products, and they were quick to fix the issue.Sturdy and elaborate, great fun, but is a bit pricey,I gave this to my son for his 4th birthday. He absolutely loved it. But I suggest having a good screwdriver, because you're going to be putting in alot of screws. I used one of those thin little dollar store ones, and it was really hard to do with that. The instructions are clear however and the quality is fantastic. My 4 year old and his two big brothers have all been playing with it nonstop the last couple days, and have even dropped several pieces, and nothing has broken. It's pretty solid. It comes with two firefighters, a dog, lots of furniture, a firetruck, an ambulance, and a helicopter. Well worth the price.A few pieces were minorly scratched, the ambulance top fell off because my 2 year old rough houses, it was poorly designed as I’ve read other reviews of this happening and chose to purchase anyways, my little guy hasn’t even noticed it broke lol. But other than that everything was as described! The seller was very quick to ship and I got it before the expected date. Overall happy. Fun toy. Great size. There is a lot of detail. The pieces are strong and hold up to lots of play. The vehicles with it get a LOT of use here. My son got this toy at age 3 and I can see he would use it for a few more years. It's nice that there are living areas in the station which encourage social play as well as fire fighting. It took a long time to assemble. The firefighter bodies are slightly movable which is neat but it is hard for a child to get them in and out of the vehicles on their own. Also the fire-pole is neat but the figures just don't fit in the fire-pole area so that is also frustrating. I would rate it much higher if the finish was more durable. The paint on the fire-station scratches very easily. My guy is fairly careful but it takes almost nothing to leave marks. Great product with a disappointing finish.
